Beyond the Bench: Scientists Shaping State & Local Policy

Numerous opportunities exist for scientists to use their unique skills and expertise in their local communities. However, these roles could be hard to find and the visibility of individuals in these roles is often quite low. This event will provide an introduction to these opportunities through short, pop-talk style presentations by scientists with various roles and responsibilities in local government. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage the speakers and learn about how they were able to transfer their knowledge and identify actions they could take locally.
