Engineers & Scientists Acting Locally seeks to inspire, encourage, and empower people in STEM to be active civic participants. We are a dedicated group of volunteers working to help our fellow members of the STEM community more effectively engage with their local communities and governments. Commitment: ~5 hours/month
ESAL is looking for a Web Manager to help us share the stories of engineers and scientists making a difference in their communities. This role is central to ensuring that our website continues to be an engaging, accessible, and effective resource.
What you’ll do
- Publish new articles, interviews, and resources on the ESAL website using our CMS.
- Optimize pages for web readability and discoverability (basic formatting, tagging, SEO).
- Collaborate with our content team on larger web projects, such as new landing pages or site enhancements.
- Assist in tracking performance metrics (page views, engagement, SEO rankings) to help us improve our reach.
What we’re looking for
- Comfort working with website content management systems (WordPress experience preferred).
- An eye for clean layout and attention to detail in web publishing.
- Interest or background in SEO, web analytics, or digital publishing.
- Reliability and ability to work independently while coordinating with a remote volunteer team.
